what's the difference?
A LUT (Look-Up Table) is a simple color transformation that applies a fixed look to your footage - think of it as a professional filter for video. While LUTs are quick to apply, they're static and can't be adjusted to match your specific footage. You'll get my exact colour, you just won't be able to tweak it. This works on any software.
A PowerGrade, on the other hand, is a complete DaVinci Resolve node tree that includes multiple correction layers, masks, and adjustable parameters. It's like getting the actual recipe - you can fine-tune every element to perfectly match your footage's exposure, white balance, and creative vision.
If you want a quick fix, a LUT works fine. But if you want professional-grade results with full creative control and the ability to adapt to any lighting condition, the PowerGrade gives you the tools that working colorists actually use.
different landscapes and lighting requiere you hours of tweaking and clicking to get consistent film-like colour...
...that's why this powergrade was born.
tested in the most extreme versions of everyday lighting:
☀️harsh midday sun (desert intensity)
☁️overcast conditions (polar level diffusion)
🌴high contrast (jungle density)
🌅golden hour (altitude strength)
one powergrade. any lighting. consistent color.
